Columbia Gas to Begin Six-Month Downtown Project
The company will present an information session on Monday at Central Rappahannock Regional Library.

Columbia Gas of Virginia will begin a $2.3 million infrastructure upgrade project in downtown Fredericksburg on April 22.
Representatives from the company will present an information session from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. April 15 in Meeting Room 1 at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library.
"This pipeline investment will require the transfer of existing customer service lines to the new natural gas facilities and will take approximately six months to complete," the company said on its website.

Construction activity will include work on the following streets:
- Amelia St. – From Princess Anne to Caroline
- Barton St. – From George to William
- Caroline St.- From Ford to Amelia
- Day St. – From Barton to end
- George St – From Hanover to Barton
- Hanover St. – From Princess Anne to Jackson
- Kenmore Ave. – From William St to Hanover
- Princess Anne St. – Amelia to Hanover
- William St. – Two sections from Caroline to Prince Edward St and from Douglas to Kenmore
The infrastructure construction work is part of the $100 million five-year investment Columbia Gas is making to modernize its natural gas infrastructure across Virginia.
