Cops Search for Class Ring Thief

Ring was found sold to gold dealer in mall

FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2011

LARCENY:

1500 block William St, June 2 – June 19 6:00 p.m. A resident reported that a class ring was stolen from her home while she was out of town. The investigation revealed that the ring had been sold to a gold dealer at Spotsylvania Towne Center, and with assistance from the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office the ring was recovered and returned to its owner. A warrant was obtained for Michael Dowd, 18, of Fredericksburg charging him with felony larceny. Dowd had not been arrested by the time of this report.

Arm of the Lord Ministry, 2100 Airport Ave, June 21 5:40 p.m. A resident reported that a cell phone and cash were stolen from her unsecured vehicle in the parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1000 block Wicklow Dr, June 21 8:00 p.m. An officer patrolling in the area found graffiti spray painted on an electrical control box. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS: James Allen, 54, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public. Joseph Merrill, 18, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

Zachery Young, 23, of Spotsylvania was arrested for felony shoplifting from Target and on outstanding warrants from Stafford charging him with unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving while revoked.

Charles Jett, 33, of Arlington was arrested on a warrant from Arlington charging him with probation violation.
