Crash Kills Woman In Spotsylvania: Police
A woman was killed and her passenger seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday afternoon in Spotsylvania County, say police.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA—A woman was killed and her passenger seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and Arcadia Road, according to Virginia State Police.
Sharon Powell, 71, of Woodford, was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that proved fatal. Her passenger, Fletcher Powell Jr., 76, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Around 12:15 p.m., police responded to the scene and found that a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo being driven by Powell made a left turn onto Route 1 (JDH) and into the path of a 2012 Ford Super Duty truck. The truck was unable to brake in time and slammed into the side of the Chevy.

The driver of the Ford wasn't injured and remained at the scene. S. Powell was wearing her seat belt; F. Powell was not. No charges have been placed and the incident remains under investigation.
