Deirdre Powell White Honored by Fredericksburg Chamber
Fredericksburg native receives the Wideman Enterprising Woman's Award

Deirdre Powell White, founder and CEO of DPW Training and Associates, has been awarded the 2013 Laurie A. Wideman Enterprising Woman’s Award by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Powell White is a native of Fredericksburg with more than 20 years of experience in training and development.
The award is presented to a woman member of the Chamber who consistently demonstrates an independent and energetic spirit, shows readiness to act in business and in the community, demonstrates great passion for improving the quality of life in our region and leads with the highest level of integrity and honesty.

Powell White founded DPW Training and Associates in 2003 to provide professional technical training to agency employees of the federal government, as well as to businesses in the private and non-profit sectors.
At its inception, the company won a $2 million federal contract that has since allowed it to blossom into a $10 million enterprise employing 20 people.

In 2012, Powell White oversaw the creation of the DPW Foundation, which supports educational initiatives at both the primary school and collegiate levels.
She is involved with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., including the development of the organization’s mobile app, and the Women’s Resource Center, Bragg Hill Family Life Center, the Chamber and the Fredericksburg Regional Boys and Girls Club.
The award is named for the late Laurie Wideman, who served on the Chamber’s board of directors and passed away in October 2010.
