Driver Fled Fatal Crash Scene In Stafford County: Police
Police are looking for the driver who left the scene after crashing an SUV in Stafford on Saturday, leading to the death of a passenger.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A driver fled the scene of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Stafford County on Saturday, Virginia State Police Officials said.
A passenger in the vehicle, an adult male, died when he was thrown from the SUV, according to authorities.
Investigators are still looking for the driver, who ran away before police arrived. Authorities described him as a man who was wearing a green sweatshirt and dark pants.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday near mile marker 140 0n northbound Interstate 95. Investigators said a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder was in the right lane before it suddenly crossed through the other lanes and exited the roadway on the left side.
The SUV then hit an embankment and flipped, authorities said. A passenger in the SUV was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver ran away before police arrived, according to Virginia State Police.
