Driver Left Overturned Truck On Stafford Roadway: Police
Authorities are looking for a driver who abandoned their truck after crashing it and overturning on Wednesday in Stafford County.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A driver abandoned their truck after flipping it onto its side on Wednesday, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Investigators are still looking for the driver.
Authorities said the crash only involved the truck, and no injuries were reported.
The driver will likely be charged with hit and run, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

If convicted, they could face up to 10 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Hollywood Farm Road and Fisher Lane. A caller reported that there was truck that had overturned, and the driver was not at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

"The mystery would not take long to unravel," the sheriff's office said. "Within the vehicle was the driver’s phone with Google Maps still displayed with directions to the registered owner’s residence."
Deputies went to the residence and spoke with a family member, who said the driver was not there. He only stopped by after the crash, according to the police report.
"The driver’s phone is currently being held at the Sheriff’s Office where the owner can pick it, and a warrant for hit and run, up," the sheriff's office said.
