Drunk Woman Crashes With 2-Year-Old Daughter In Stafford: SCSO

A drunk woman was arrested following a hit-and-run incident with her 2-year-old child in the back seat in Stafford, according to the SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—A drunk woman was arrested Saturday night following a hit-and-run incident with her 2-year-old child in the back seat in the area of Cambridge Street and Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Allexys Knight, 25, of Fredericksburg, was charged with felony child endangerment, driving under the influence, hit and run, driving suspended and expired registration.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a reported hit-and-run in the aforementioned area. A witness who saw Knight hit a vehicle followed her to the Olde Forge neighborhood and said she was "driving all over the roadway."

Police spotted the vehicle and pulled it over in the 800 block of Bellows Avenue. An officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Knight, who said she had been drinking and "was likely too intoxicated to drive." Police also noticed significant damage to all sides of the vehicle.

They also noticed the 2-year-old daughter, who later was released to the custody of a family member who had been summoned to the scene. After field sobriety tests, Knight was arrested and taken to jail.
