STAFFORD, VA—A drunk woman with a suitcase full of cats was arrested early Friday night in Mr. B's Market and Deli at 375 Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Shanna Holwager, 43, of King George, was charged with public intoxication. The cats, apparently unharmed, were turned over to Stafford County Animal Control.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a suspicious person with cats in her suitcase. When they made contact with her, she had a bag containing three cats in her zipped suitcase. Holwager told officers she was trying to bring the cats to the SPCA. Police also smelled alcohol and noticed she was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech and bloodshot, glassy eyes.

She was taken to jail, held there until she was sober and released. The next day, however, around 11:15 p.m, police spotted Holwager walking down the middle of the road and waving her arms in the area of South Gateway Drive and Warrenton Road. She again was arrested for public intoxication.
