Man Ate Grass, Rolled Around Outside Hotel Is Charged With Public Intoxication

A Chester man seen rolling around and eating grass outside a hotel was cited for public intoxication on Saturday, according to reports.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 34-year-old Chester man was cited for public intoxication on Saturday after he was seen eating grass outside a Fredericksburg hotel, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

A sheriff’s deputy responded around 6:46 p.m. to the Holiday Inn Express at 560 Warrenton Road for the report of someone rolling on the ground and eating grass. The deputy found the man lying on the ground along with multiple cans of Mike’s Hard Lemonade, according to the incident report.

After talking to the man, who was slurring his speech, the deputy watched him get unsteadily to his feet and smelled an alcoholic beverage coming from the man, authorities said.

He was arrested, charged with public intoxication and held until he was sober, according to the sheriff’s office.
