EDT Busy Booking Hotels in 2011

The Fredericksburg Economic Development and Tourism Department booked more than 4,000 hotel room nights last year.

It was a busy year for the Fredericksburg Economic Development and Tourism department. During fiscal year 2011, the department helped a variety of organizations book more than 8,000 hotel room nights in the city.

According to Fredericksburg City Manager Bev Cameron, this year is shaping up to be busy as well. The Economic and Tourism department already has more than 40 groups signed up to come through Fredericksburg in the next fiscal year. That translates to more than 4,300 room nites.

"EDT expects that number to increase as the economy improves," wrote Cameron in the memo.
