Architect to talk streetscape, building improvements for historic district

Fredericksburg's Economic Development Authority will hold a public presentation on a new downtown facade improvement and matching grant programs this morning at 8:30 a.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

The programs are designed to provide incentives for building owners and businesses to make their structures more pleasing to the eye.

Staunton architect Kathy Frazier will preset the findings of an assessment of building facades within a 24-block area of the historic downtown business district, including renderings of color facade improvements for select buildings, recommendations on needed improvements and the approximate cost per building. Frazier will also present low-cost improvements to the streetscape which the city could undertake.
