Electricity Returns for Many

Only 1,200 customers in the city of Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties remain without power as of noon today, according to outage information available from Dominion Power.

In the city, may experienced power outages which began around 4:45 p.m. as a powerful thunderstorm blew across Fredericksburg.

Fredericksburg fire and rescue services say they fielded more than 150 calls for service in the immediate aftermath of the storm. The deluge of calls caused a hours long backlog as rescue crews raced to stabilize structures and clear trees from power lines and roadways.
