Fatal Stafford Crash Kills Woodbridge Man: Police
Authorities said a 36-year-old man from Woodbridge died on Monday from injuries suffered in a car crash on I-95 in Stafford.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — One man died and another was injured in a crash on I-95 in Stafford County on Monday morning, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities identified the deceased man as a 36-year-old man from Woodbridge. Officials have not publicly released his name as they work to notify his family. The other driver involved in the crash was a 52-year-old man from Stafford. He suffered minor injuries in the crash, authorities said.
The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. on Monday on southbound I-95 near mile marker 134. Authorities said a BMW sedan driven by the Woodbridge man was travelling slowly in the left lane. The BMW suddenly shifted to the right lane, according to the police report.

A 2013 Chrysler sedan was unable to stop before colliding with the back of the BMW, investigators said. The collision caused the BMW to crash into the Jersey wall.
The driver of the BMW was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said. First responders took him to Mary Washington Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The other driver was taken to Stafford Hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
