Fiery Tractor-Trailer Crash Shut Down I-95 In Stafford: Police

Nobody was injured when a tractor-trailer crashed and caught fire on I-95 in Stafford, police said. The roadway was shut down for an hour.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A tractor-trailer crashed and caught fire in Stafford County in Friday morning, state police officials said. Roadway closures on northbound Interstate 95 lasted more than 5 hours.

No injuries were reported in the crash, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred around 3:40 a.m. on Friday near mile marker 140 on northbound I-95, authorities said. A tractor-trailer left the roadway and struck a guard rail attenuator. The collision caused the truck to catch fire.

All northbound lanes were closed until about 6:30 a.m. Residual lane closures lasted until 9 a.m., when all northbound lanes reopened.

Authorities have not provided any information about what factors could have led to the crash.
