Financial Reports Filed By Fredericksburg City Council Candidates
Fredericksburg City Council candidates recently filed campaign finance reports with the state department of elections. Here are the details.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Candidates running the the Nov. 4 general election had a Sept. 15 deadline to file a finance report with the Virginia Department of Elections, showing how much their campaign raised and spent to date.
The deadline applied not only to candidates running in the Virginia governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and House of Delegates races, but local races, including the Fredericksburg City Council.
The nonprofit Virginia Public Access Project reported the following information about the nine city council candidates based on the latest financial filings with the state department of elections:

Ward One City Council
- $7,125 - Matt Rowe (I) received the most in campaign contributions in the Ward One race, according to his financial filing. His largest single contribution was an in-kind donation from Renee Dunn, who designed his campaign website for $2,000.
- $4,447 - David Wade Cropper (I) reported contributing $2,695 to his own campaign and received $1,500 from Virginia Realtors.
- $2,000 - Kenneth Dwayne Gantt (I) reported financing his campaign with a $1,000 loan and he received an in-kind donation of $1,000 from Simply Web Services for designing his campaign website.

Ward Two City Council
- $13,343 - Joy Crump (I) reported financing her campaign with a $5,000 loan, with her largest single contribution being $1,500 from Virginia Realtors.
- $10,478- Anne Little (I) reported financing her campaign with a $1,000 loan and received $1,000 donations from Tracy Houck (Attorneys/LawFirms) and Walter Jervis Sheffield (Trial Lawyers).

Ward Three City Council
- $7,617 - Matt Kelly (I) reported receiving $1,000 from David James (Retired), which was his largest single donation.
- $5,403 - Susanna R Finn (I)* reported receiving $1,500 from the VA Assn of Realtors - Peninsula, which was her largest single donation.

Ward Four City Council
- $27,646 - Charlie Frye (I) * reported raising the most in campaign contributions of all the candidates running the city council race. He received $5,000 contributions from Chaney Enterprises (Cement/Concrete/Asphalt), CVA Expo Center LLC (Services - Haircare, Drycleaners, Etc.), CVAS Grocery LLC (Restaurants) and Green Chip Inc. (Waste Disposal/Landfills).
- $1,200 - Jesse Dominguez (I) reported financing his campaign with a $1,000 loan.
