With the forecast calling for the first measurable snow of the year, here's what to know about who removes snow.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — It won't take long in the new year for the first snow to blanket the region. Forecasters are expecting a winter storm to bring accumulating snow to the Fredericksburg area.
"This weekend, snow is expected to fall and accumulate on roads in the Fredericksburg area, Northern Neck, and Middle Peninsula starting Sunday through Monday, creating the potential for hazardous travel conditions," according to the Virginia Department Transportation's Fredericksburg District.
VDOT crews will be treating roads as needed overnight Friday and early Saturday. Travelers can expect brief delays on I-95 and major roads as crews begin applying a brine solution to the road surface.
