Fredericksburg 4th Of July Fireworks Parade, Times: 2019 Guide

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The city's Independence Day celebration truly is a day-long affair that stretches will into the evening. We're talking about a 5-mile run, a children's parade, a craft show, patriotic readings and much more.
Branded as Fredericksburg's July 4th Heritage Festival and also sponsored, in part, by Stafford County, it concludes with fireworks that can be viewed from Pratt Park or Old Mill Park. Elsewhere in the area, there's the Spotsylvania Stars and Stripes Spectacular, held on Saturday, June 29.
As for Independence Day weather, according to the National Weather Service: Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 5 p. m. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100.

Downtown – Lafayette VRE lot to Caroline Street to George Street to Princess Anne Street to Lafayette Blvd. Prizes for best costume & best decorated bicycle. Judging begins at 9:15 am and
prizes awarded at 9:25 am.

Festival of the Streets

Catch the bus or trolley from downtown or from the Eagles Lodge on Cool Springs Road. Ferry Farm parking is handicapped only. Tours of the Washington house, archaeology, music, games, crafts, family activities, re‐enactors, and history theater.

Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence
Join us on the steps of the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop as we celebrate our independence. There
will be a live reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1:00pm and again at 3:00pm. This
event is free and open to the public.

4:30pm: John Lee Pratt Memorial Park Opens for the July 4th Spectacular
4:30 pm ‐ 8:00 pm: Children’s actvities, backyard games and face painting Food Vendor trucks on site.
6 pm–7:30pm: Live Music: E3 at Celebration Stage
9:30 pm: FIREWORKS

It returns Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area beginning at 3 p.m. Join your family, friends and neighbors for this hometown, all-day family event. Come for the music, come for the food or come for the fireworks! Special shuttle bus service from nearby locations is offered to make your travel around the area simpler.

Stars and Stripes Parade:
It begins at 3:30 p.m. Per the organizers, "Lead the crowd from the Holbert Building to the Main Stage where we will present the American Flag and take part in the OPENING CEREMONY!"
Parade Route: Behind Magistrates Office to Main Stage.
Please no motorized vehicles. Strollers and wagons are welcome. Parade will include asphalt and grass.
