1. A group of civic leaders, business owners, and journalists in Fredericksburg are launching a new nonprofit local news operation called The Fredericksburg Free Press. Several facilities in the Fredericksburg area, including Family Food Palace, Sizzling Kabob and Grill, and Kentucky Fried Chicken, recorded violations during recent restaurant inspections conducted by the Rappahannock Area Health District. Violations included the absence of a certified food protection manager certificate, failure to provide documentation for clean-up of bodily fluids, missing hand washing signs, and various instances of unclean equipment and food storage areas.
