Fredericksburg Man, 21, Fatally Injured In Head-On Collision

A 21-year-old man was fatally injured when the BMW he was driving slammed head-on into another vehicle late Tuesday night.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 21-year-old Fredericksburg City man died from injuries he received during a head-on collision late Tuesday night, according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 11:04 p.m. to the report of a crash near River Road and River Downs Drive, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators determined that a 2004 BMW driven by Sheikh Muneeb was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed, when he crossed the double yellow line to pass another vehicle, according to authorities. The BMW then crashed head-on with a 2016 Toyota Prius.

After being removed from the BMW, Muneeb was taken to Mary Washington Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver and passenger of the Toyota Prius received non-life-threatening injuries from the collision
