Fredericksburg School Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Summer is over for many Fredericksburg City students. While the first day of school in Fredericksburg City Schools was Monday, Aug. 6, kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade students in Stafford County Public Schools are heading back to school on Monday, Aug. 12, with all grades returning to the classroom on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

New for 2024-2025, Virginia school districts will be required to develop cell phone-free policies by Jan. 1, 2025 under an executive order issued by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. On Aug. 15, the Virginia Department of Education will draft guidance for school districts to adopt their own policies and procedures on cell phone-free education after receiving community feedback.
