Fredericksburg Woman Killed in Essex Crash

A 32-year-old Fredericksburg was killed Monday in a head-on car collision in Essex County.

A Fredericksburg woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday on Sunnyside Road in Essex County.

Erica N. Williams, 32, died at VCU Medical Center Monday. She was a passenger in a 2006 Pontiac driven by Brandie L. Harvey, 19, of Woodford, when the vehicle collided with a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck attempting to turn onto Lewis Level Road. The pickup truck reportedly hit the Pontiac head-on, Virginia state police said in a news release.

Harvey was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, Lazarus Boone, 78, of Essex County, was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving, the Virginia Times-Dispatch reports.
