Free Birthday Cake at Giant

In honor of the company's 77th anniversary Feb. 6, Giant Food is treating everyone to a celebratory slice of birthday cake from 3 - 8 p.m. at all neighborhood stores, the company announced in a press release.

Giant locations in the Fredericksburg area include:

• Giant - Eagle Village
• Giant - 3501 Plank Road
• Giant - Falmouth
• Giant - Celebrate Virginia
• Giant - Harrison Crossing

"Despite the challenging economic times in 1936, N.M. Cohen and Samuel Lehrman teamed up to open the very first supermarket in our nation’s capital," a store spokesperson said.  Giant now serves communities through 170 neighborhood stores in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.  The company is based in Landover, Md.
