National Chain Opens 1st Fredericksburg Location With Free Donuts

The first 51 customers standing in line at 7 a.m. on Saturday will receive free donuts as part of the shop's grand-opening celebration.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Duck Donuts will celebrate the grand opening of its first shop in Fredericksburg on Saturday by giving free donuts to the first 51 guests standing in line, according to a release.

The first customer in line when the doors open at 7 a.m. on the new Central Park Shopping Center shop will receive a coupon for one free dozen donuts per month for a year. The next 50 guests will receive a coupon for one free dozen donuts at a future visit to the Fredericksburg shop.

In addition to free donuts, the Fredericksburg Duck Donuts will also be making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia through the Quack Gives Back program, which promotes partnering with community groups to raise awareness and funds for their causes.

“We’re excited to announce the opening of a new Duck Donuts shop in the heart of the Fredericksburg community,” said Luis Hernandez, who owns and operates the shop with his wive Anne Kayser. “We’re thrilled to bring a fun and welcoming space where families, friends, and donut lovers alike can gather. Our team is proud to become a part of this vibrant community and looks forward to spreading smiles, one donut at a time."

Hernandez and Kayser first met while working at the same restaurant, according to a release. Eleven years later, the couple are married with three children and have a fourth on the way. Kayser previously served in Stafford County as a psychologist and Hernandez was a military veteran who later transitioned to a career in IT.

The new 1,240-square-foot Duck Donuts will not only be serving fresh donuts seven days a week, customers will be able to order the national donut chain’s signature coffee blends, donut breakfast sandwiches, donut sundaes, frozen beverages, milkshakes, select retail items, and more.
