Fog Causes Hazardous Weather Outlook For NoVA, Followed By 2 More Storms
Forecasters issued a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday for parts of Virginia from Arlington to Leesburg and south to Fredericksburg.
VIRGINIA — The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday for parts of Virginia from Arlington to Leesburg and south to Fredericksburg due to foggy conditions.
Areas of dense fog are possible across the region Wednesday morning, including in Loudoun, Prince William and Fauquier counties.
“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” the NWS said.

Along with the dense fog in some areas, rain is forecast for all parts of Northern Virginia, with a total of 2 to 4 inches of rain expected in the region through Sunday.
"Some fog and mist are possible during the morning, but showers and eventually steadier rain should mostly hold off until the afternoon and evening," The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang said Wednesday.

After the week’s first storm on Monday, a second storm will pose a risk for heavy rain in the Washington, D.C. area on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.
The Wednesday evening commute along the Interstate 95 corridor in the D.C. area could be a wet and slow-go as a result, AccuWeather said Wednesday.
On Thursday, morning clouds and a few lingering showers will give way to brightening skies by the afternoon, according to Capital Weather Gang. Afternoon highs are expected to reach into the upper 50s and mid-60s on Thursday.
"The atmosphere is expected to quickly reload with moisture late week across the East, posing an even bigger risk for the third storm of the week across the region this weekend," AccuWeather meteorologist Brandon Buckingham said.
Due to the frequent rounds of rain, each storm will lead to greater runoff than the storm before and further heighten the risk of flooding. By the time the third storm rolls in, small streams may be near bank full and some of the larger rivers may be on the rise, AccuWeather said.
For the weekend, steady rain is expected in Northern Virginia on Saturday, with afternoon highs in the 50s. The rain should end late evening or overnight. On Sunday, no rain is in the forecast, with partly to mostly sunny skies and windy, with highs in the 50s.
