Health Code Violation Reported At Fredericksburg School Kitchen: Inspection
Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors reported finding violations at eight food establishments recently, including a school kitchen.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors reported that eight of the 17 Fredericksburg food establishments visited between Sept. 15-23 had health code violations. One of those establishments was Smith Station Elementary at 7320 Smith Station Road.
During a Sept. 19 visit to the school, an inspector found that there was a direct connection between the basins in both the three-compartment and prep sinks to the sewage system, according to the report. This violated the state health code.
"A direct connection may not exist between the sewage system and a drain originating from equipment in which food, portable equipment, or utensils are placed," the inspector wrote in their report.
