VIRGINIA — Trick-or-treaters in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., may have perfect weather for raking in lots of treats on Halloween, according to the latest long-term forecast from the National Weather Service.

While temperatures over the next six days will be bouncing from the 60s during the day to lows in the 30s at night, things will begin to really warm-up next Wednesday and Thursday, according to NWS.

Trick or treaters in the Baltimore-Washington region will be treated to sunny and unseasonably warm temperatures this coming Halloween, according to forecasters.

"We're looking at a lot of mild weather overall during the day on Halloween, with some places being downright warm," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.

The historical record for Halloween in the nation’s capital is 82, Accuweather said. A high of 79 is currently forecast for D.C. and Northern Virginia, meaning that it is within the range of a small fluctuation in the forecast.

"As you get into the evening hours and the sun dips down, the breeze and temperature fall will make it feel a little cool, even with temperatures being above the historical average," Pastelok added.
