Holiday Closings in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania
Holiday schedules for area government, library and transportation services

City of Fredericksburg offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, for the Christmas holiday, and again on Wednesday, Jan. 1, for New Year's Day. There will be no trash collection on these days.
All branches of Central Rappahannock Regional Library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and again on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Access to the catalog, eBooks and research tools is available 24/7 online.
Virginia Railway Express (VRE) does not operate on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. The commuter rail will operate on an "S" schedule Christmas Eve (Dec. 23) and the week between Christmas and New Year's (Dec. 26 - 31).
There is no FRED bus service on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Spotsylvania County government offices are closed Monday, Dec. 23, through Wednesday, Dec. 25, and again on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
All Spotsylvania County Convenience Centers and the Livingston Landfill will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and remain closed on Christmas Day. These will also be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The City of Fredericksburg Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public Dec. 30 and 31, according to treasurer-elect Brenda Wood. "This closure will accommodate preparation for an audit as required by the Code of Virginia before a newly elected treasurer takes office," she said.

The City’s online payment site, www.fredericksburgva.gov, will continue to function and accept payments. A drop box located in the front window of City Hall is also available for payment remittance. Any bill due dates affected by this closure will be processed as on time when the office reopens to the public on Jan. 2.
All other city offices are open on Dec. 30 and 31.
