Identity Theft Catches Up To Man In Stafford: Police
A man was arrested for identity theft following a traffic stop in Stafford that revealed another such traffic-stop ruse, says the SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—A man was arrested for identity theft Wednesday following a traffic stop in the area of 20 Prosperity Lane that revealed another such traffic-stop ruse, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Firas Kismat Hanna, 26, of Stafford, was charged with driving after forfeiture of license, identity theft, forging/uttering, obstruction of justice, failure to obey traffic lights and failure to stop/yield—as well charges from the two traffic stops.
Shortly before 9 p.m., police pulled over a Hanna after he turned left on a red light. He told the officer he left his driver's license at home but instead provided his social security number, name and date of birth. But then backup units arrived, and police soon discovered Hanna was providing phony ID.
Another officer on the scene recognized him from a Dec. 29 traffic stop in which he had run a stop sign and provided the same false identification. Hanna admitted using a family member's identification instead of his own, and police found that Hanna's license had been revoked for a DUI-related offense.
