Lane Closure, Garden Tour Impact Falmouth Intersection Tuesday
The right lane of southbound Route 1 will be closed in Stafford County near Route 17 Business/Route 218.

Motorists should also be aware Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont will highlight the Garden Club of Virginia's 80th annual Historic Garden Tour on April 23, which could add to the traffic congestion in the area of this intersection.
Route 1 southbound will be reduced to one lane in Stafford County on Tuesday, April 23, for utility relocation work. The lane closure will be in place from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Route 1 southbound between Truslow Road and Route 17 Business/Route 218.

Utilities are being moved underground at the intersection before the Falmouth Intersection Improvement Project is advertised for construction in November 2013.
In the event of heavy congestion or an incident on Interstate 95, the work zone can be cleared within 15 minutes so Route 1 may serve as an alternate route.
