Live Traffic Map for Holiday Weekend in Northern Virginia

STAFFORD, VA — Thanksgiving travelers and holiday shoppers are out on the roads this weekend.

Thanks in large part to relatively inexpensive gas prices and an uptick in the economy, AAA projects that Virginians will travel at a rate this Thanksgiving weekend not seen since 2007.

AAA projects 1.3 million residents were travelling 50 miles or more from home this weekend, an increase of nearly 50,000 from a year ago.

The map below shows heavy traffic in red, medium traffic in yellow and open roads in green. Construction spots are noted with icons. Where possible, lanes typically closed for work zones will be open for holiday travel.
