Loaded Gun Found In Vehicle That Crashed Into Pole: Stafford Sheriff

A large amount of pasta and a loaded gun, but no driver, were found inside a crashed vehicle in Stafford County, the sheriff's office said.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A man faces several charges after the vehicle he was driving was found crashed into a power pole along Richmond Highway, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Early Sunday morning, a sheriff’s deputy responded to the single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Perchwood Drive.

When the deputy arrived, the driver was not in or near the vehicle. But the driver’s identifying information was in the vehicle. Large amounts of pasta and a loaded gun were found in the driver’s seat, the sheriff’s office said.

A deputy went to the suspect’s address, where he confirmed he was behind the wheel of the crashed vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

The man was charged with hit and run, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and driving without insurance.
