Man Fatally Shoots Mother Of His Child In Stafford County: Sheriff
Trevon Vanzant, 21, is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A man is in jail after fatally shooting the mother of his child during a dispute at home, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said their 1-year-old toddler and another family member of the victim were in the home at the time of the shooting but not injured.
Trevon Vanzant, 21, of Chesterfield has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

At 1:49 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies said they responded to a shooting on Crescent Valley Drive. The victim, Aliyah Henderson, 19, of Stafford, was discovered in the home with a gunshot wound.
Medics with Stafford County Fire and Rescue confirmed Henderson had succumbed to her wound at the scene, deputies said.

Deputies said they recovered a handgun at the scene.
"This is an ongoing investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Ms. Henderson," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Vanzant has been held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
