Man Left His House To Shoot Gunman As VA Mass Shooting Erupted
A man who shot one of the suspects during Tuesday's mass shooting in Fredericksburg won't be charged with a crime, reports say.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — No charges will be filed against a man who shot one of the suspects in Tuesday’s mass shooting in the Fredericksburg area, according to reports.
When bullets started blasting Olde Greenwich Circle around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the man was inside his home and saw two people with long guns shooting outside, according to NBC4.
After telling his family to call 911, the man grabbed his gun, went outside and shot one of the suspects, according to NBC4’s reporting. Learning that there were other shooters nearby, the man returned to his home to wait for law enforcement to arrive. The resident has not been identified publicly.

Additional charges have been filed against Jeremiah Upson, 18, who is one of the four suspects arrested in connection to the shooting that killed three men and injured three others.
Upton was arraigned Wednesday morning in Spotsylvania County Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court on a felony malicious wounding charge, according to court records. He was also arraigned on charges of unlawful assembly with a firearm and use of a firearm in a felony - first offense.

The malicious wounding charge is a Class 3 felony. If convicted, Upton faces a potential penalty of five to 20 years in prison, along with a possible fine of up to $100,000, according to the Code of Virginia.
While the use of a firearm charge is lasted as an “unclassified” felony, the unlawful assembly charge is a Class 5 felony and punishable by one to 10 years in prison or a fine up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
Upton is due back in Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court on May 28 to face all three charges, according to court records.
"One of the 16-year-old suspects is currently at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound," according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. "Two of the suspects are Spotsylvania County residents and two are Caroline County residents. Three of the suspects have been incarcerated with no bond. The suspect who is currently in a local hospital will be incarcerated upon his discharge."

Two of the victims killed were Chase Feaster and Alonzo Goffney, both 18, who were both from Spotsylvania County.
The name of the third victim killed was held pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators said they believe the shooting involved an illegal gun sale and robbery.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said it received a report of a shooting about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and deputies found multiple people at the scene had been shot. Three people are confirmed dead, and the three wounded have been taken to local hospitals.
