Police Seek Puppynapper

Puppy stolen by elderly man in broad daylight.

A Fredericksburg resident's dog was stolen last Friday morning from his front yard on the 200 block of Charles Street.

Fredericksburg police say a barber at the Headliner's Barber Shop watched as he saw an older white man driving a gold Ford Taurus stop in front of the victim's house and called the dog over to the car. Once near the car, the driver put the dog in his car and drove away.

Police say the barber confronted the suspect, informing him that he could not take the dog. The suspect persisted, saying something about the Humane Society before placing the dog in his car and driving away.
