Missing Fredericksburg Man Found Dead In Stafford: Police
The body of a young Fredericksburg man not seen since Jan. 25 was found in the Rappahannock River late Thursday night, says the SCSO.
STAFFORD, VA—The body of a young Fredericksburg man not seen since Jan. 25 was found in the Rappahannock River late Thursday night, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Jacob David Butterfield, 23, was found by two fishermen. The cause of death hasn't been released.
Around 11 p.m., police responded to reports of a body found in the river. The fishermen had spotted what appeared to be a body floating near the Little Falls boat ramp, and immediately contacted police. Authorities removed the body from the river, after which Butterfield's identity was verified.
Butterfield was most recently seen hanging out with friends in downtown Fredericksburg.
