Motorcyclist Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash In Fredericksburg: Police

A 41-year-old motorcycle rider from Fredericksburg died after he was thrown from his vehicle when it collided with a guardrail on Saturday.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A motorcycle rider died after his vehicle collided with a guard rail on Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia State Police Officials.

The motorcyclist, 41-year-old Daniel Hernandez of Fredericksburg, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. He died at Mary Washington Hospital, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday near mile marker 131 on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg. Investigators said Hernandez was riding his 2021 Harley Davidson northbound on I-95.

Eventually, the motorcycle drove off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail. The collision ejected Hernandez from his seat.

Authorities said Hernandez was wearing a helmet. Investigators believe weather was a factor in the crash. Thunderstorms brought rain and wind to the region on Saturday.
