Northern Virginia Weather: Sun Returns For Weekend
Northern Virginia's weekend weather is expected to look considerably different from what we've seen the past couple of days.
STERLING, VA—A considerable amount of sunshine is on tap for the Northern Virginia this weekend, albeit with windy conditions. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.
With most of the isolated thunderstorms moving out Friday night, Saturday is expected to feature lots of sun with high temperatures struggling to reach 50 and then dropping to around freezing that night. As for Sunday, the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang points out that a "fast-moving storm system closes in on the area late in the day, creating more cloud cover and an increased chance at showers in the afternoon."

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. South wind 10 to 16 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a west wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Sunday: A chance of showers after 1pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 47. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
