With the three-day weekend deluge finally in the rear-view mirror, folks in the Northern Virginia area can ditch the umbrellas and such.
STERLING, VA—With the three-day weekend deluge finally in the rear-view mirror, folks in the Northern Virginia area will be treated to a work week with lots of sun and scant chances of rain until Thursday. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.
Monday, however, also is expected to feature windy conditions with gusts up to 25 mph, although temperatures remain relatively mild for this time of the year. And then? Consider this, from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang (including some numbers about the record-breaking rainfall): "The colder air fully filters in on Tuesday, when highs only manage to reach the mid-to-upper 40s under a mostly sunny sky. Winds could still be gusty from the northwest, especially during the first half of the day."
