Northern Virginia Weather: Weekend Clears—Briefly

STERLING, VA—With the relatively brief winter rain storm having made its hay and set its sights elsewhere, folks in the Northern Virginia area should expect a mostly clear weekend with highs in the upper-40s and lows in the mid-30s. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.

Rain chances will return Sunday night and last through the early part of New Year's Eve on Monday, after which, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "A few showers could linger into a mild overnight. Rain should be out of here for New Year’s Day."
