NYT Best-Selling Author to Speak at UMW
Ever consider the gender and generational differences in how we communicate online?

New York Times best-selling author Deborah Tannen will speak at the University of Mary Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Tannen's book "You Just Don’t Understand: Women and Men in Conversation" was on The New York Times Best Sellers list for almost four years, including eight months as number one.
An expert on conversational style, cross-cultural communication and gender differences, Tannen will present “Conversational Style in Digital Discourse: Texting, Email, and IM as Cross-Cultural Communication Across Genders and Generations.”
The lecture will take place in the Great Hall, and is free and open to the public.
Tannen will sign books after her lecture. Some of her books also will be for sale.
