Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-95 In Spotsylvania County: Police
A 38-year-old woman died on Sunday after an SUV hit her on southbound I-95 in Spotsylvania County, authorities said.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A woman died on Sunday after an SUV hit her in the center lane of southbound I-95 in Spotsylvania County, authorities said.
Virginia State Police identified the woman as Crystal D. V. Durruty, a 38-year-old from Frederick, Maryland. She died at the scene of the crash.
Authorities identified the SUV driver as a 39-year-old man from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was not injured in the crash.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday near mile marker 116 in Spotsylvania County.
"A 2020 Kia Sorento was traveling south on I-95 when it collided with a pedestrian that ran into the center travel lane," Virginia State Police said. "The Kia was unable to avoid a collision and immediately stopped at the scene."

Investigators said Durruty was a passenger in a sedan that had stopped along the shoulder. After the sedan stopped, she got out of the car and ran into traffic, according to the police report.
Virginia State Police officials said the crash is still being investigated.
