Populuxe Owners Subdue Alleged Burglar

The owners encountered a man in the story when they arrived to open. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The owners of Populuxe, 107 William St., encountered a robbery suspect upon opening their store on Thursday.

"The business owners reported that when they arrived, they found the front door had been forced open," said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police spokesperson. The owners entered the building and encountered a male subject in the back section of the business.

One owner prevented the subject from leaving while the other called 9-1-1.

"Officers arrived less than two minutes later and took the offender into custody without incident," Bledsoe said.

Walter Crosman, 21, of no fixed address, was arrested for felony burglary and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
