Preliminary Snow Totals in Northern Virginia for Monday, Jan. 30, 2017
Some areas saw nearly 3 inches of wet snow, while others saw only trace amounts. Here are early totals from the National Weather Service.

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — It's a unique storm that drops the heaviest snow on the southern end of the region, while leaving only trace amounts in the northern areas of Loudoun County.
Preliminary snow totals reported by the National Weather Service noted more than 3 inches in Spotsylvania County by 7 a.m. Monday morning. Stafford saw nearly that amount of the wet snow. By Monday afternoon, most of the snow had melted.
There's a slight chance for a second round of snow impacting the Tuesday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
