November is Home Health and Hospice Month

City council proclaimed November Home Health and Hospice Month.

Fredericksburg City Council proclaimed November as National Home Health and Hospice Month during their Oct. 23 regular session.  

Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw presented the proclamation to three representatives of Mary Washington Home Health and Hospice.  They are Lynn Henry, Director for Mary Washington Home Health and Hospice; Nancy Speed, Medical Records Coordinator for Mary Washington Home Health; and Dawn Broadwell, Hospice music therapist.

Mary Washington Healthcare participates in the November celebration of National Home Health and Hospice Month "to exemplify the high regard we hold for home care and hospice professionals and the special relationships that they maintain with patients and their family members," according to their website.

Mary Washington Hospice has been part of the Fredericksburg community for over 25 years. It provides medical care, pain management and complementary therapies to patients with chronic diseases and other life-limiting conditions.

Mary Washington Hospital Home Health provides in-home nursing and rehabilitation to help manage diseases or following a traumatic healthcare incident.
