Rain Dominates Week-Long Forecast Throughout Fredericksburg
According to the National Weather Service, there is at least a 20 percent chance of rain every day this week, and often higher than that.
As the calendar turns from September to October this week, the weather in Northern Virginia is expected to take a turn for the nasty.
There is at least a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast every day this week, and on most days the odds of rain moving through the area are even higher than that.
Winds will pick up this week as well, causing temperatures to continue to drop into the 50s and 60s as we move deeper and deeper into the autumn season.

The National Weather Service only projects thunderstorms on Tuesday evening, but it does project the constant rain will continue into the weekend.

Monday: A chance of rain after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 80. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Monday night: A chance of rain, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Tuesday: A chance of rain before noon, then a chance of showers after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
