Temperatures continue to drop as wind gusts continue to pick up, distancing the area from the warm, calm summer weather.

Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Friday but will fall to the mid-60s by Sunday, and wind gusts of more than 10 miles an hour are projected all throughout the coming weekend.

Friday: A chance of rain, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 71. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday night: Rain. Low around 62. Northeast wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain. High near 71. Northeast wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Sunday night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 63. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
