FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Filbert, a 4-year-old dog at the Fredericksburg SPCA, is stressed out by the shelter environment. Filbert is ready to find a forever home of his own.

"This sweet and handsome 4-year-old is looking for a foster or adoptive home," the Fredericksburg SPCA told Patch. "Filbert has been feeling very stressed in the loud and chaotic shelter environment, causing him to lose weight. "

Though he might not be a fan of the shelter, Filbert is a fan of people.

"He loves being around people and would make a great companion for someone working from home," the SPCA said. "Filbert enjoys going on walks, getting treats, and playing with frozen Kongs."

Filbert has also done well in play dates with other dogs at the shelter. To help him find a home, Elizabeth T. has sponsored Filbert's adoption fee in memory of her cousin Jimmy.
