FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Watermelon is a dog on a mission. She's currently at the Fredericksburg SPCA as she works to lose a few pounds and find her forever family.
"Watermelon is aptly shaped for her name, and just as sweet," the Fredericksburg SPCA told Patch.
Watermelon is on a weight loss journey as she looks to become less rotund. She's lost 13 pounds so far, the SPCA said.

"This gal is full of joy and happy to accompany you on evening strolls - she hasn't met a person she doesn't like," the SPCA said. "She is 5 years old, social, and can make anyone's day better with her sweet smile."
Watermelon is also a little socialite.

"She's gentle and loves to share snacks," the SPCA said. "Watermelon loves playing with other dog pals so if you have a lonely dog that needs a pal bring them by the Fred SPCA Tuesday through Saturday for a meet and greet!"
