Second Suspect Arrested Following Shootout

Cortez Broadus, 27, of Fredericksburg was arrested at his home on White Sreet this afternoon. Broadus is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless discharge of a weapon, and unlawful discharge of a weapon in the City limits. Broadus was involved in the
According to Fredericksburg Police Department spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe, multiple area residents called 911 at around 5:17 p.m. on January 3 to report gunfire. When police arrived, they found Broadus bearing a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.
One eyewitness was standing on her porch when the shooting began. She says she ran inside for cover when she heard the shots and called police immediately.
When police arrived, they found the injured man and transported him to the hospital by ambulance. They also found another man standing, 33-year-old Anthony Belgrave in the street holding a weapon. Police immediately detained the man, but he was later released without charges.
