Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued
Afternoon storms could bring high winds to the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Fredericksburg and other regions of northern and central Virginia.
Forecasts by the NWS call for showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., some with strong winds. Overall, highs will be in the upper 80's with a south wind blowing between 11 and 15 mph. Chane of precipitation is 80 percent, with new rain amounts predicted up to a quarter of an inch. Expect higher rainfall totals areas affected by thunderstorms.
Chances of showers continue tonight with partly cloudy skies and lows dipping to the mid 60's. The wind will come from the south at around 9 mph. Chance of rain is 40 percent, with new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch predicted.
